Should prostitution be legalised?

Should we legalise prostitution in the UK? We have seen so many murders of prostitutes lately. With it being illegal it also creates so many issues of exploitation, illegal sex trade from eastern Europe and third world countries, pimps exploiting women and forcing tem into prostitution, involvement of drugs trade etc., not to mention the health issues. People have used prostitutes for over 2000 years, should it not just be recognised to bring it under control, this would remove a lot of the exploitation, improve the health issues, work to remove the drug issues and stop prostitutes being murdered. Should we accept some people want to use prostitutes and that some people want to earn their living this way? Or is this totally immoral and not what society wants. Tells us your views?

Should prostitution be legalised? - Most definitely, how else would an ugly bugger like me get laid??

Seriously though, I work over 60 hours a week and I just don't have the time to go though all the "wooing" thats required for a relationship, plus I'm too bloody knackered at the end of the day. So if I can just pick up the phone and dial me a shag, whats the problem?

As long as the girl is in the business of her own free will and not at the end of the fist of some scumbag and shes over 18 years of age, then I really don't see what all the fuss is about.

Prostitutes should be taken off the street and set up in properly run brothels that offer health checks and security staff for their own safety.

Fair enough you wouldn't want a brothel in the middle of a housing estate, but there are plenty of other places that they could be placed. Maybe on an industrial estate or similar. That would also provide all those that work in the area something to do in their lunch hour.

A good brothel is one thing that Weymouth is lacking. Come to think about it, I don't think Ive even seen a street walker in Weymouth!

At least the Echo now lets hookers advertise these days so they are only a phone call away.
